Chopper Spins Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Well-Known California Beach
A helicopter flying near a crowded coastal coastline abruptly started spinning wildly, eventually dropping height and smashing into a line of palm fronds as spectators looked on.
Videos uploaded online depict the helicopter beginning to twirl near the beach then descending in the direction of the perimeter of the coast, where it becomes wedged among palms and a set of stairs close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Information
Local firefighters reported five persons were rushed to the hospital comprising a pair who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on that day.
Three individuals on the street were injured. Details on their wounds were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
